FROM THE DESK OF PRESIDENT KATHERINE FOSTER

Welcome to the Greater Orlando TNBA Senate. We have one of the greatest senates within the National TNBA family of Senates. As I assume the role of Senate President, it becomes important to share the vision as we move forward. This message outlines the path ahead.

First, I and other member of the Executive Board want every member to know that we are committed to building our senate by using the wealth of talent represented in our membership. The first order of business is to have the membership view and approve the draft By Laws that appear within this website.

We will also verify the Senate’s financials and membership information. Another important immediate additional goal is that we make certain that all Senate operations are open and transparent. We have a great Senate and we have a great message as we look to recruit new members and new bowlers. By insuring that our members know what is going on and can explain the organization becomes invaluable to success within our new member orientation and recruitment efforts.

Early last week I heard from the State Representative and she informed me that it would be appropriate for me to appoint a Vice President even though during our March meeting we voted to hold off. Given the amount of work ahead as we move toward our August elections, we can use the leadership help. For that reason, I have appointed Billy Pete as the acting Vice President until we hold elections. Before our April Travel League event, a an appointed nomination committee will look for persons interested in running for Senate Office. A slate of officer responsibilities is available for each member to review on our website. An outline of officers’ duties also appears in the draft By Laws.

Again, you have the Executive Committee’s commitment that we will do the best that we can possibly do to advance interests of our Orlando TNBA Senate.
